The Boost Duration Ritual extends the time you have between ritual castings of a Target Item, Spirit, or Body within a single open batch to 28 days or until the next ritual of the appropriate aspect is cast, whichever comes first. Despite the open ritual batch being unfinished for the 28 day duration, the Ritual Target, if an item, is still considered a magic item for the purposes of the Break and Shatter effects during that time.
This Ritual Effect will only affect an open ritual batch if it is of matching Aspect and was the last ritual cast in the batch. Additional rituals cast during the extended 28 days will be considered part of the same unfinished batch. Another extension ritual of the same Aspect (such as another Boost Duration, Preserve Duration, or Permanent Duration) will replace the Boost Duration if cast on the open ritual batch within the 28 days and will extend all open rituals of the appropriate Aspect on the Ritual Target regardless of when during the 28 days they were cast into the item.
This Ritual will also allow Ritual Scrolls from additional chapters to be affected by the same extender. Scrolls from each chapter involved, other than the chapter providing the extender, require their own Boost Duration casting. When casting Rituals from multiple chapters, the Rituals from the same chapter as the extender, will not require a Boost Duration, but must be cast as the final portion of the batch.
Unlike other extension rituals, Boost Duration will allow a Preserve Duration or Permanent Duration Ritual to be cast at any time before the expiration of the Boost Ritual to further extend the open batch. Any extension rituals of the same Aspect cast into a Boost Duration batch will replace the Boost Duration; as the two extensions can not exist at the same time on a single batch. If this Ritual expires or is not replaced, it will fade from the item, losing the ability to further extend the open batch. You must finish the Boosted Batch with an extender before you can begin/extend another batch of the same Aspect on an item. The difficulty of the extender which is cast to replace the Boost is calculated off the total number of Rituals to be affected not including the Boost Duration Ritual (as it is overwritten by the new extender).
There is no limit (other than the typical maximum Rituals per item) to the amount of Rituals that can receive a Boost Duration. You cannot cast a Boost Duration Ritual on any other form of Extend Duration Rituals to extend the time you have to add Rituals or add an extend ritual to an existing Ritual batch. You cannot cast Boost Duration over an existing Boost Duration. If the Boost Duration expires before the duration of the Rituals that it was cast on the batch can no longer be augmented with an additional extender or Rituals, however any Ritual which has not expired will still function until their normal duration expires. Logistics activations are still used if the Batch is brought into an event while the Boost Duration is active.
This Ritual requires 3 reagents as listed on the scroll.
This ritual can not be spellcrafted.
